MCCU Celebrates Youth in April
03/26/2024
Marshall Community Credit Union (MCCU) is excited to continue its annual tradition of celebrating youth members during the month of April.
Youth Month encourages individuals up to age 17 to develop good financial habits through education and instilling a savings mindset. “Our mission is focused on providing financial education to all members,” said MCCU Financial Education Specialist, Laura Van Dyke. “By providing rewards through engaging promotions, we encourage our youngest members to build rapport with their primary financial institution, provide education on how to form healthy financial habits, and work to build a healthy relationship with money.”
New and current MCCU youth members will receive incentives throughout the month of April when they make a deposit, open a new savings account or a new checking account.
In 2023, MCCU provided nearly $3,000 in combined rewards to its youth members during Youth Month. “It is imperative that young people have an opportunity to have their own experience with money, and Youth Month provides the basis to build healthy habits at a young age,” adds VanDyke. “For some, Youth Month may be their first experience with money, and we want that experience to be positive. By focusing on youth, we can demonstrate the community-focused benefits of banking with a credit union while providing continuous education throughout their membership with MCCU.”
